Il fago individua una sequenza specifica nel DNA dell'ospite, vi si integra, e da quel momento il codice dell'ospite contiene il codice del fago — riscritto, non distrutto. L'ospite non sa. Continua a operare normalmente, ma produce qualcosa di diverso.
La crescita segue le regole differenziali: ogni segmento si suddivide, ogni nodo respinge i vicini. L'ambiente è frattale, irregolare a ogni scala. A questo si aggiunge un campo di curl noise — vortici divergence-free che deviano ogni nodo della curva mentre si dispiega, senza modificare le regole di base.
Il curl noise è il fago: agente esterno che si inserisce nella logica del sistema e piega le traiettorie verso percorsi inattesi. Il codice rimane identico, la forma che emerge è diversa. Mutazione fenotipica: il fago introduce la variazione, non ne determina l'esito. Sarà la selezione naturale a decidere se quella deviazione porta a un vantaggio o a un errore letale.
Il codice è costruito in collaborazione con AI: descrivo la meccanica del fago, il sistema implementa i vortici.
La forma che rimane è fluida, sinuosa — l'evidenza geometrica di un'interferenza che ha cambiato il percorso senza toccare le regole.

The phage identifies a specific sequence in the host's DNA, integrates into it, and from that moment the host's code contains the phage's code — rewritten, not destroyed. The host doesn't know. It continues to operate normally, but produces something different.
Growth follows differential rules: each segment subdivides, each node repels its neighbors. The environment is fractal, uneven at every scale. Added to this is a curl noise field — divergence-free vortices that deflect every node of the growing curve as it unfolds, without changing the underlying rules.
The curl noise is the phage: an external agent that inserts itself into the system's logic and bends trajectories toward unexpected paths. The code remains identical, the form that emerges is different. Phenotypic mutation: the phage introduces the variation but does not determine its outcome. It is natural selection that decides whether that deviation leads to an advantage or a lethal error.
The code is built in collaboration with AI: I describe the phage's mechanics, the system implements the vortices.
The remaining form is fluid, sinuous — the geometric evidence of an interference that changed the path without touching the rules.
